John is a Founding Member of Certified Claims Professional Accreditation Council, Inc. (CCPAC) and is the Executive Director and Chairman of the Board, positions he has held since 2006. Has over 30 years experience in transportation & risk management for some the nations largest LTL and TL carriers. He has specialized in domestic and international cargo liability claims, loss prevention, insurance and cargo and facility security for all modes of transportation.  Several U.S. Federal Court and Canadian Crown decisions have been published supporting his positions on validity of carrier tariffs, released values, classifications and high value cargo claims.  John serves on the Board of Directors of the Jacksonville Claims Association and is Past President of that organization and has served as Deputy of the local Chapter of Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS) and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Transportation Loss Prevention & Security Association (TLP&SA).  John has served as President of the National Freight Claims Council (NFCC) of American Trucking Association (ATA), a Carrier Arbitrator for the Transportation Arbitration Board (TAB), is a member of Delta Nu Alpha (DNA), the Transportation Industry Defense Association (TIDA) and the Law Enforcement & Private Security Council of Northeast Florida and the Transportation & Logistics Council.









David Nordt, CCP

David is the President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors a position he has elected to by membership and has held for over 5 years. He is Director of Claims at the The Gilbert Company where he has over 40 years of experience in transportation management. As the Director of Claims he oversees cargo claims, OS&D, loss prevention, quality control and operations. David serves as Board Member of the Transportation & Logistics Council (T&LC), Arbitrator on the Transportation Arbitration Board (TAB).  He also is member of the Traffic Club of Newark, NJ,  a member of New Jersey Motor Trucking Association and the Eastern Regional Transportation Security Council. He also is a member of the Transportation Loss Prevention & Security Association and the American Society of Industrial Security. He served as President of the Northeastern Motor Carrier Claims & Security Conference during 2000-2004. Dave was elected by the membership as President of CCPAC at its 41st Annual Meeting in Orlando, FL on March 23, 2015, and is the first President of CCPAC to be re-elected annually to serve in this position for more than 5 years. He is a proud U.S. Army Veteran.

Deborah is the Cargo Claims Manager at UPS Freight, Inc. at the the Corporate Headquarters in Richmond, VA.  Deborah was the first in her department to earn her CCP status.  As she became more involved with CCPAC  she successfully demonstrating to her company management the importance and benefits of getting all the members of the Cargo Claims Staff CCPAC Certified.  Deborah originally served as Vice President – Membership, CCPAC, Inc. and was elected to her most current position of Vice President, CCPAC Certifications by the membership at the CCPAC Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, NM in 2016.  Deborah also serves on the CCPAC Board of Directors.

Robyn Connelly was ammoniated by the membership to Vice President – Membership and ProClaim Editor over 5 years ago.  She is Claims Manager for Syfan Logistics, and is an experienced cargo claims professional. Robyn’s knowledge of transportation operations enables her to work with a multitude of departments managing cargo claims, insurance and mitigating risk to protect the assets of Syfan Logistics. She has worked in the trucking and logistics industry for 13 years and has managed the claims department for the past 3 years. Robyn earned her claims certification in 2015 through the Certified Claims Professional Accreditation Council as well as completing the Freight Claims Management Program through the Institute of Logistical Management. In her efforts to continue her education Robyn completed the TIA course in 2018 to become a Certified Transportation Broker. Robyn will be serving as the ProClaim Chief Editor & Regional Director of the South-East on the Certified Claims Professional Accreditation Council Board for 2018. Robyn resides in Mount Airy, Georgia with her husband. They have four grown children and two grandchildren.

Christine is our Vice President – Corporate Secretary and Regional Director – Great Lakes Region.  She is a Transportation Auditor with Land ‘O Lakes in St. Paul, MN.  Christine received her CCP Accreditation in 2013 in San Diego, CA and has held the Vice President – Corporate Secretary and Regional Director position since 2018.  She has worked for Land O’ Lakes, Inc, based in Arden Hills, MN  for nearly 13 years, where she manages the freight claim process for four divisions.  Christine has over 25 years experience in the industry.  In 2020 she was appointed to the Transportation Arbitration Board (TAB) as a Shipper Arbitrator.  She has been a member of Toastmasters International since 2016 and is the current President of Power Presenters a Toastmasters Club for 2020-2021 where she leads officers and members in their speaking and leadership development.  Christine previously held the Power Presenters VP Secretary role from 2019-2020.  What she values most about being a CCPAC member is the network of trusted professional and personal relationships she has built over the years.  Christine and her husband have 4 children, 5 grandchildren, a Doberman, and  have been foster parents for Doberman Rescue Minnesota for 11 years.

Wally Dammann, CCP

Wally is the Administrator of the Transportation Arbitration Board (TAB). He has been in a leadership position with various carriers and shippers since 1986. Wally retired from his most recent employer where he was the Assistant Vice President & National Recovery Manager at Mitsui Sumitomo Marine Management U.S.A., New York.  From 1986 through 1999, he was the Director of Cargo Claims at Rutgers Express and Streichler Trucking,  Wally served as the Cargo Claims Manager for Panasonic Electronics from during 1999 through 2005. Prior to his career in cargo claims, Wally worked for Zim Container Service and Maher Terminals as a Terminal Superintendent in Elizabeth, NJ. In 2003, Wally retired from the U.S. Army reserves, after 23 years of service, with his last position being Marine Cargo Operations NCO. He received a Bachelor of Science in Transportation and Logistics from St. John’s University in 1994 and is presently seeking his master’s degree from St. John’s College of Insurance. Wally served as CCPAC Council President and was presented the CCPAC Life Member Award at the 41st Annual CCPAC Conference in Orlando, FL, March 23, 2015.

Dona Vidal, CCP

Dona serves in her present position as Cargo Claims Manager at Transplace Texas LP. She has been instrumental in coaching her department staff to all become CCP’s. Dona saw the advantages of her furthering her knowledge of the CCPAC by volunteering to join the management team as Vice President – Certifications.  She was elected to CCPAC, Inc. President, at the Annual CCPAC, Inc. Meeting in San Diego 2014, a position she held for over two years.  Dona has been a vital member of the CCPAC team and currently services on the Board of Directors.

Neal is our newly appointe Regional Director for New England Region 1.  Having worked in roles as a shipper, carrier and 3PL, Neal has been working in the transportation industry for more than 15 years. Neal earned his CCP certification in March 2018 and much of his experience lies within the 3PL and motor carrier segments of the industry. Neal has been employed with ReTrans Freight (A Kuehne + Nagel Company) for more than 12 years and currently holds the position of Strategic Solutions Executive. In addition to managing the freight claims department and working with shippers and carriers to reach favorable and fair claim settlements, he leverages industry knowledge and technology to create and implement strategic solutions for customer specific needs. He is a member of the Transportation & Logistics Council and is an approved Carrier Arbitrator for the Transportation Arbitration Board (TAB).

Benson is the Senior Claims Representative, Ocean Marine Claims at Mitsui Sumitomo Marine Management, New York City, NY   He has over 10 years experience in the marine insurance industry.  Benson has 2 Masters Degrees in Law and is multilingual in Mandarin Chinese, Taiwanese and English.

Jessica Renner, CCP is the Lead Claims Analyst at Jarrett Logistics Systems in Orrville, Ohio.  She has been at Jarrett for almost 5 years, of which over 4 years of that has been in the Cargo Claims Department. Jessica is married with 2 kids; Josh her husband, Ella is 7 yrs old and Nicholas is 21 months. She is a graduate from the University of Akron with a BA in Psychology.

Carrie is a newly appointed Regional Director.  She has over 15 years in cargo claims experience and 17 total years in logistics.  Carrie received her CCP in April 2012 and has also been Proctor for the CCP Exam in the Chicagoland area in recent years.  She is currently the Director of Claims at SEKO Logistics and previously worked for Hub Group, Inc as a Cargo Claims Manager.  She was recently appointed as an Arbitrator with the Transportation Arbitration Board (TAB), as well.

Karen is newly appointed to the Board of Directors and serves as Regional Director for the Mid-South Region.  She is a Claims Analyst with Transplace Texas, LP, Lowell, AR   Karen is a graduate of the University of Arkansas in Communications, Theater, Political Science. Later she attended NWACC Nursing, She is an avid Speech Writer, Teacher, Nursing Home Administration, Transportation, and is a Certified Claims Professional (CCP) in Cargo Claims administration.. Karen is a lifetime resident Bentonville, AR. Three Nieces eleven grandnieces and nephews.

Mary is the newly appointed Pacific Region Manager and has been employed with Mountain Valley Express since 1994. She currently is  the Cargo Claims/OS&D Manager overseeing the claims department and supervise 9 OS&D terminal clerks: 6 in California, 2 in Nevada, and 1 in the Arizona terminal. I currently work out of the Santa Maria, CA terminal 2 days a week and from home 3 days a week.

Mary has resided in San Luis Obispo CA since 1964 and is married to Ken Warrick for 15 years. She has 3 sons, 1 stepdaughter and 1 granddaughter and 1 grandson, with identical twin girls on the way.  Mary was also recently appointed as a Carrier Arbitrator for Transportation Arbitration Board-2019

Mark is the Freight Claims Director for C.R. England and has been with them for almost 21 years at the Corporate office in Salt Lake City, UT.  He resides in Fruit Heights, UT.  Prior to C.R. England, Mark was an AIC for Crawford and Company in Kalispell, Montana for 5 years, and managed Property, Casualty, liability and Cargo Claims.

Mr. Pezold represents shippers, carriers, freight forwarders, brokers and intermediaries in transportation matters throughout the country. In addition to his extensive litigation background, he has written numerous texts, manuals and articles and lectured widely on transportation subjects.  Mr. Pezold has specialized in transportation law for more than 40 years, representing shippers, motor carriers, forwarders and brokers and coordinates the firm’s federal and state court litigation. He also writes and lectures extensively on transportation law subjects including co-authoring of “Freight Claims in Plain English among others. George also has the distinction of serving as the Executive Director of the Transportation & Logistics Council, a founding co-sponsor of CCPAC when it was initially formulated in 1980.
